Nelmel (Sally) Ross Henderson was born in Fort Worth, Texas April 18, 1930 to Melville and Nellie (Kamp) Ross. She passed away peacefully in Fort Worth, Texas November 20, 2022.
Sally graduated from Joshua High School and she married the love on her life Everett Leroy Henderson in 1948. They had one son together Steven Lewis Henderson.
They would spend a number of years on the dairy farm, as had her parents. Sally was active in the Crowley P.T.A. as well as the First Baptist Church of Crowley where she had been a member for over 65 years.
Sally loved her plants and had a wide variety in her yard and garden. She had a natural curiosity for nature, and loved to bird watch and feed “her chickens” as she liked to call the hoard of sparrows who would see her coming.
Sally spent years sewing clothes for her family and herself on an antique treadle singer sewing machine, she was also a long term member of the First Baptist Quilters.
Sally is survived by her sister Shirley Ellen Dickerson, her son Steven and his wife Janie. Their two sons, Conan and James Henderson along with their wives Shannon and Shali. She had three great-grandsons, Logan, Jack, and Andrew, along with two great-granddaughters Madison and Adilynn.
