Roy Henderson Obituary

Roy Gene Henderson, born Sunday December 13, 1942 in Joshua, Texas passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday October 17, 2021.

Roy was a loving husband, a fun loving father and a proud grandfather.  He is survived by his beloved wife Kim Henderson who he married on July 4th, 1996 in Joshua, Texas, his daughter Tammie Warner and her husband Simon Warner, his stepdaughter Julie Smith and her husband Joe Smith, his stepdaughter Amy Edwards and her wife Melinda Edwards, his sister Mary Lee Everett, Grandsons Drew Henderson Boles, Steven Henderson, Braden Thomas, Simon Warner, Michael McCarroll and wife Baylee, CJ Gayler, Griffin Gayler, and Zack Smith.  Granddaughters Megan Reep and husband Austin, Kimmie Bennett, Kaylee McCarroll, Katy Smith as well as 2 great-grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and golfing buddies.

Roy is preceded in death by his son Kevin Ray Henderson, his father Elmer Henderson, his mother Stella Faye Henderson and his brothers Lewis Henderson and Jimmy Ray Henderson.

Roy lived by (if not invented) the term "work hard and play harder".  Working the graveyard shift at Bell Helicopter for 42 years gave him the daylight hours to play golf, go fishing, take all the kids skiing on the river, cook for family and friends or work on his perfectly manicured lawn.

Roy was diagnosed with cancer in 2007. He fought long and hard to spend as much time on earth with his family as he could.  Many precious memories were made during his 14 year battle and his family was grateful for his fighting spirit.  He will be dearly missed.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
