Reba Sharp Obituary

Reba Pearl was born on April 24, 1939, in Milburn, that’s in McCullough County, TX to William & Juanita Singleton. Reba was the seventh of 13 children and attended school in Elm Grove and Richland Springs.  After completing her 9th grade year, Reba began working to support the family as they moved their way to Johnson County.  It wasn’t too long after arriving in Johnson County that she met the love of her life, Chesley C. Sharp, where they both worked at the Burleson Poultry Plant. Chesley and Reba were married the following year on June 15, 1957. Together, they had a son, Chesley Wayne and daughter, Kimberly Dawn and built a wonderful life together in Joshua, TX. Their marriage lasted almost 50 years before Chesley’s passing in 2006.

Reba loved her Lord very much and was a dedicated Christian throughout her life. Reba was a longtime member of Joshua Baptist Church for 37 years.  If the church doors were open, you could count on her to be there and she truly enjoyed being surrounded by her church family when singing old gospel hymns.
Even though Reba had many careers through her life which included, The Burleson Poultry Plant, seamstress, furniture upholstery, and payroll accountant at her husband’s company (KWS), her favorite titles in life were being called momma, nanny to many. She had many hobbies that included being a teacher, an example of life to her children, as well as a collector of Angels, Butterflies, and Birds. She enjoyed gardening, needlepointing, and sewing, along with living the farm life. Her favorite time of year was both Christmas and family reunions because she knew her entire family would all come together.

Reba loved her husband, children and all her brothers & sisters. She really shined around the family, and you always knew she loved you. If anyone ever needed anything, she was the first to lend a hand and lived life as a giving and faithful servant of The Lord. Reba enjoyed traveling on vacations with Chesley whether for work or pleasure. She loved to fish and spend time outdoors. Some of her favorite times in life were spending time on the lake and fishing with Chesley and her grandchildren.
Reba truly lived life to the fullest, never complaining and always smiling. Even after being diagnosed with Lewy’s Body Dementia, she remained strong and faithful, never complaining.  She passed gracefully at Chisholm Trail Memory Care in Keene Texas.  She is a blessing to all who knew her, and her wonderful spirit will be with us always.
Preceded in death.
