Nell Virginia Jones

Virginia Nell Jones passed on Wednesday November 9, 2022, at the home of her son, Brian. Virginia was born December 26, 1937, in Owens, TX, and graduated from Brownwood High School. Although she came from humble beginnings, she was extremely proud of both her personal and professional accomplishments. She loved her sons deeply and almost to a fault. She always said that her sons brought her new daughters, and she spoiled them all with love.  Virginia had a full house over the course of thirty-five plus years as she opened her home to loved ones for as long as needed. Virginia had a quick wit and a great sense of humor bringing joy and laughter to all. She loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, loving on the family dogs, laughing and enjoying a good steak.

Virginia was preceded in death by partner Jimmy H. Laningham, son Bruce Alan Jones, her parents John Willie Wheeler and Nora, her brothers Frenchie and Dee, and her sister Joyce; granddaughter Crystal Faye Laningham.

Virginia is survived by daughter in law Sherri Jones of Alvarado, son Rick Jones and wife Brandi of Dallas, son Brian Jones and wife Kelly of Southlake, son Jim Laningham and wife Jen of Cleburne; grandchildren Sherry Gordon, Steven Jones, Jennifer Whitaker and husband AJ, Brittainey Caldwell and husband Will, Jill Jordon and husband Sean, Justin Jones, James H. (Buster) Laningham III and wife Kandyce, Nicole Laningham, Tanner Belton and partner Tera, Parker Slavens, Brittney Thornton, Brooklyn Suth, Jaylee Suth; great grandchildren Dakota Bales, Abigail, Hailey, Lacey Gorgon, Dominic Anderson, Elle Jordan, Abigail, Nehemiah and Shadae Genser, Tessa Jo Belton,  Annabell Scott, Jayden and Nathan Morgan, Addison Laningham; great-great grandchildren Rendon and Hudson Bales.
