Mercedees Agerton Obituary

Mercedees Jean Freeman Agerton of Burleson Texas entered her heavenly home March 27, 2020.  Mercedees was born August 4, 1930 in Morrow County, Ohio, the oldest daughter of Harlie Martin Freeman and Edna Mercedees Miller Freeman.  She graduated from Longview High School where she was a Loboette.  After graduation, she attended Harris College of Nursing in Fort Worth where she received her RN diploma.  She met William D. Agerton (Bill) at a college dance when he was home from Texas A&M and on December 19, 1949 they married and later welcomed Diane Elaine and William David, Jr. to the family. Donations may be made to Happy Hill Farm.

Mercedees was a member of The Magna Charta Dames and Barons, Society of Mayflower Descendants, Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, Society of Descendants of Colonial Clergy, Daughters of the American Revolution and First Families of Ohio.

She was preceded by her parents, sisters Harlene Lucille Freeman Braun, Marilyn Rae Freeman Pearson, brother Donald Martin Freeman and grandson John Clayton Bransom.

Her loving husband of 71 years survives her as well as daughter Diane Agerton Dyess, son CDR William David Agerton, Jr. USN (Ret.) and wife Barbara Durbin Agerton, grandson James Patrick Agerton, nieces and nephews.
