Marion Othel Bush

Marion Othel Bush, 81, joined his Savior in heaven May 22, 2023. Marion was born July 29, 1941 near Eastland, Texas to Odie Franklin and Johnnie Nichols Bush. He married Marilyn Faye Johnson in a small ceremony in Weatherford, Texas. Marion and Marilyn have resided in Burleson, Texas for the last 55 years.

Marion was a hard worker and provided well for his wife and sons. He retired as a machinist from Bell Helicopter in 2002. He absolutely loved his job and especially his co-workers. He often joked when he left for work that he was “on his merry way”. Marion spent countless hours hitting baseballs and teaching the game. He was constantly working on his sons’ cars. He loved to play dominoes, golf, horseshoes, and frisbee golf. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, singing karaoke, water skiing, and camping.  He always had some sort of project going on in the garage and it was usually for a grandchild. He made rubber band guns, leather ammo bags, pine-wood derby cars, a spring- loaded snowball chunker, and hot wheel villages. He built go-carts and built a train for the kids to ride in that he pulled behind his mower.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene Bush and his wife Kay, Sister Clara “Sister Lou” Martindale and her husband Ray, and sister-in-law Patsy Bush.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Faye Johnson Bush, son Kirby (Scarlett) of Ft. Worth, Texas, son Kenneth (Melissa) of Joshua, Texas, son Jody (Tamara) of Joshua, Texas, son Tracy (Mary) of Damascus, Arkansas, brother Odie Franklin Bush, Jr. of Godley, Texas, sister Mackie Jo Hancock of Whitney, Texas, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his pint size watchdog, Doofus, who (according to Papa) never let a bear on the place.

Left to cherish wonderful memories of their Papa are his grandchildren Maeghan (Lainee) Bries, James (Chelsie) Bush, Andriah (Trey) Watts, Isaac Bush, Tareah Bush (boyfriend Paul O’Rourke), Jordan Bush, Gloria Bush (boyfriend David Kanati), Madi Bush, BJ (Amelia) Bush, Carson Bush, and one great grandson, Braxton Watts. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
