Kenneth Michael Maughon

Kenneth Michael Maughon, 75, of Joshua, Texas, passed from this life and into eternity with his Heavenly Father on September 21, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born July 9, 1946, to Claude and Ruby Maughon, and was a lifelong resident of Joshua, Texas.

Kenneth married Carolyn Reynolds Maughon on January 23, 1970. While they only dated a short time before getting married, they knew they were meant for each other and their love withstood the test of time, with the celebration of their 51st wedding anniversary this year.

Kenneth and his wife, Carolyn, had two sons, Marty Michael Maughon and Monty Lynn Maughon. He was so proud of the men his sons grew to be and could always be heard bragging about them. Kenneth loved his role as Papa to his grandsons, Mitchell and Maxwell, and was so proud of them. Throughout their years together, the family enjoyed taking family vacations, playing card and board games and just spending time together around the dining room table enjoying a good meal and conversation. Kenny was a private man, but enjoyed spending time with his family and helping his family in any way that he could.

Kenneth retired from Lockheed Martin in December of 2011 after over 25 years of service. He was a dedicated employee and seldom missed a day of work.

Kenneth enjoyed classic cars, classic car restoration and attending car shows. He especially loved his 1967 GTO. He still had his 1972 Caprice and could be seen driving around Joshua in it. His son, Monty shares the same love of classic cars! He loved to play card games and was always up for a competitive game of Ping Pong! One of his favorite hobbies in his later years was helping his sons and grandsons with woodworking projects. Kenneth also enjoyed spending time on their sunroom porch with their cats. He could often be found riding around their property on his John Deere mower or Gator.

He was a member of NorthPointe Church (First Baptist Church of Joshua) since childhood. In his later years, he loved watching his son, Marty, play guitar in the church worship band. Kenneth came to know the Lord as his Savior as a young boy and participated in baptism as a public profession of his faith. The family is comforted knowing he is at home with his Lord and Savior in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Maughon and parents Claude and Ruby Maughon. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Maughon of Joshua, Texas; his son Marty Maughon and his wife Melody Maughon and their sons Mitchell and Maxwell of Joshua, Texas; his son, Monty Maughon, and his girlfriend Elizabeth Brockey, and her daughter Charlotte of Grapevine, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family that he loved dearly.
