Juan Manuel Esparza

Juan Manuel Esparza was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico on February 28th, 1950 to Maria and Lucas. Juan bravely fought a long hard battle with cancer.  He was originally diagnosed with colon cancer in 2013.  He enjoyed a couple of years in remission but was re diagnosed in 2015 with liver cancer.  After surgery and chemotherapy, he was able to once again celebrate being in remission until 2017 when doctors discovered his cancer had come back in both of his lungs.  In 2020 he learned that his cancer had spread from his colon, to his liver, to his lungs, then back into his liver. He passed away on the night of May 4th, 2023 surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and family.

Juan grew up in Mexicali, Mexico with his mother, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.  For most of his working career, he was a truck driver.  He met the love of his life, Alma Angelina, in 1973.  They had a quick engagement and married less than a year later on February 16th, 1974. They were happily married and in love for 49 years before his passing.

Juan left behind a beautiful legacy. He is survived by his wife Alma Angelina Esparza and his three children: Juan Jr., Angeles and Alexandra. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jenessa, Mia, Destiny, Allan, Jezreel, Lidia, and Alyssa, and great grandchildren: Jayden, Alaïa and A'myah.
