Francis Mitchell Obituary

Francis (Frank)  Allen Mitchell was called home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021, at the age of 75.

Born on February 17, 1946 in Columbus, KS to Alta Louise Evans and Claude Allen Mitchell, Frank was the third of four boys.   Growing up in Kansas and Oklahoma, Frank enjoyed playing sports and learned from his parents the value of hard work.  His work ethic eventually lead him to attend Oklahoma State University where he graduated with a degree in Geology.  Frank was also a quiet, but proud veteran serving for several years in the United States Army.

Frank enjoyed a thirty plus year career in the Oil and Gas Industry, retiring from the same company he joined after college.  During his early years of his career, he met his loving wife, Janice Carol Simpson.  Together they raised three children as they moved between many cities across Oklahoma and Texas.  They later settled in Burleson, Texas where Jan and Frank have spent the last 33 years together.

Frank was proceeded in death by his mother and father and two of his brothers:  Larry Mitchell and Michael Mitchell.

Frank is survived by his wife of 49 years Janice Mitchell as well as his brother, Maurice Mitchell and his children: son Phillip O’Bryan and spouse Patricia Thames, son Lee Mitchell and daughter-in-law Audrey Mitchell, daughter Toni Miller and son-in-law Chris Miller; grandchildren Brittney Daugherty, Wade McCrory, Garrett O'Bryan, Finley Mitchell, Eleanora Mitchell, and Kaylie Miller; and great grandchildren Robin Daugherty and Maverick Daugherty.

His family and friends will forever remember his strong will and belief in character as his guiding value.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
