Obituary

Francis “Dwain” Gafford was born in Tyler, TX on March 3, 1947, to Claude and Mabel (Mewbourn) Gafford. He passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon May 1, 2023, as he was transported to his heavenly home surrounded by his family.

Dwain grew up in Tyler, TX where he attended Hogg Jr. High and John Tyler High School in 1965. He served 4 years in the Navy where he specialized in Electronics Automation and served in the Vietnam War. After his term with the Navy, he served in the great Naval reserves for a period of time. Later, he settled in Burleson, TX with his wife Juli (Jenkins) Gafford.

Dwain was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Mabel Gafford and wife Juli (Jenkins) Gafford.

Dwain is survived by his two daughters, Gina (Gafford) Birdsong and husband Jim Birdsong of Tyler and their children Will and Hayley Birdsong, and Brittany Birdsong of Lindale. Brooke (Bowling) White and husband Don White and their two children Garrett and Kaityn White of Benton, AR. Dwain is also survived by his brother and sister in-law Kevin and Shelia Jenkins of Aledo, TX and their children Matt and Brittany Jenkins and Josh and Julie Jenkins.

We will miss his continuous humor and his many words of wisdom.
