Debra Ward Obituary

Debra Keiko “Kay” Ward was born in Florida on 4-7-1962, to Charles and Teruko (Terri)Blalock.  She passed away peacefully early morning March 30th, as she was transported to her heavenly home with her husband, Thomas Ward by her side.

Kay grew up with 2 siblings Curtis and Kenny Blalock.  Kay had a very close and special relationship with her brothers growing up and in adulthood. Kay was always about her family and spending quality time with them all. Being present in her parents, husband, son, daughter in law, grandson, brothers, sister in laws, nieces and nephews lives was a priority to Kay above all else.  Kay met the love of her life Thomas Ward on January 1st of 1983.  It was a love that developed very quickly and they were married soon after on May 6th 1983. Kay and Thomas shared 38 years of life together and experienced deep unconditional love during their time together.  Kay inherited her brother in law James Alvin Ward and wife Janet, and sister in law Carolyn Gee when she and Thomas were married. Thomas and Kay lived in Whitehouse, Texas from 1983 to 1993 and then they moved back to Fort Worth to be with their families.

Kay is survived by her parents Charles and Teruko (Terri) Blalock, husband, Thomas Ward, one son, JF Scott Ward and wife Stormy, one grandson, Zachary Thomas Ward, and soon to be granddaughter Lilly Keiko Ward ( Kay’s name sake) Brothers Curtis Blalock and wife Lyn, Kenny Blalock and wife Keri, James Alvin Ward and wife Janet, sister in law Carolyn Gee, 10 Nieces, 4 Nephews, 7 Great Nieces, 13 Great Nephews, and numerous close friends and loved ones.  Kay was the most amazing wife and person. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. During her time on earth she helped so many people, we can’t even begin to count them. When anyone speaks of Kay, they talk of the selflessness she shared, her whit and strength, and of course her timeless beauty both inside and out.  Kays beautiful smile, and heart of gold will be forever missed.  We will honor her memory and speak of her often and know we will meet again one day.

A private memorial service was held at Pathway Church of Burleson for family and friends.  The kind words, thoughts and prayers for our family are deeply appreciated as we mourn the loss of Debra Keiko “Kay” Blalock Ward.
