Deanna Sue (Wolff) McGinnis

Deanna Sue McGinnis, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2022 with her daughters by her side.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., on August 20th, in the Lower Commons of Arborlawn United Methodist Church, located at 5001 Briarhaven Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76109.  There will be a private family inurnment in the Arborlawn Ascension Gardens prior to the Visitation.

Sue was born on August 15,1945 to her loving parents, Carl and Dorene Wolff.  Sue enjoyed simple things in life like crafting, painting, shopping, and reading.  She also spent countless hours volunteering at Arborlawn United Methodist Church and held many jobs there including setting up for communion, cleaning the sanctuary pews, decorating tables for church events, and serving as the wedding coordinator.  Her favorite thing to do was print and fold bulletins each week with her beloved group of friends, "The Friday Girls”; however, Sue would say that the best thing that ever happened to her was being a Nana.  Her four grandchildren were her whole heart.  Kelsey, Keaton, Jack and Cole were the true lights of her life.  Nana had a special relationship with each one of them and was always seen and heard at sporting events supporting them from the stands. Even towards the end of her Alzheimer’s journey, her face would still light up when a grandchild walked in her room, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and sat beside her for a little chat with Nana. 

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorene Wolff and her brother- in-law, Jerry Ash.

She is survived by her daughters Kim Cordell and her husband Billy, Kerri Benson and her husband Rick.  Grandchildren Kelsey Cordell, Keaton Cordell, Jack Benson and Cole Benson, her sister Joy Ash and her nephews Dean Ash, David Ash, Carl Ash and numerous cousins and friends.

Memorials can be made to the Worship Fund at Arborlawn United Methodist Church.
