Billy Joe Ballentine

October 3, 1933 – January 18, 2023

Billy Joe (BJ) Ballentine was born in a cottonfield in Manila R.F.D., Arkansas on October 3, 1933, to Arthur Ballentine and Alpha Bagley (Ballentine).

B.J. passed away on January 18, 2023, peacefully at home in Burleson, Texas. He grew up in, Arkansas with his parents and 6 siblings.

B.J. enlisted in the US Army in 1953 – 1956 and proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne division, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

On March 1, 1957 Billy married the love of his life Patsy Dekle in Alamogordo, New Mexico. In 2022 they celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage.

B.J. began his career in 1957 as a tool designer for  Convair Aircraft Manufacturing in New Mexico.

Upon moving to Burleson, Texas in 1964, he continued his career at General Dynamics as a production engineer tool designer. After a very successful career at General Dynamics, he continued in the same capacity for Bell Helicopter until his retirement in 1993.

B.J. and Patsy spent several wonderful years after his retirement traveling throughout the united states together and with many friends, church members, and the peacemakers.

B.J. was proceeded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alpha Ballentine and siblings Alford, Delbert, Doyle, Garland, Clifford, and Opal.

B.J. was survived by his wife of 65 years, Patsy Ballentine, and their 3 children, Sherry Lynn, Annette Jo, and Billy Joe Jr. He was also survived by his grandchildren, Dakota, Miranda, Tyler, Taylor, Teagan, and Alan. As well as great-grandchildren Alan Jr, and Ariah.

B.J. was a faithful member of Calvary Church of Ft. Worth and a master mason of Deer Creek Lodge where he proudly served the Lord.

B.J. was a wonderful and loving husband, father and pepaw.

B.J. will live forever in the hearts of his family, extended family, and friends. He was one of a kind and lived his life in truth, passion, honor, faith, and did so without any regrets.
