Barbara Odom Obituary

Barbara Jean Odom was born in Morgan, Texas on July 10, 1939 to James and Maty Cleo Lovell.  She passed away peacefully on May 26, 2022.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband William “Willie” Odom, parents James and Maty Cleo Lovell, her siblings Lee Lovell, Kathin Kolar, Nelda Lovell, Gilbert Lovell, Geraldine Mullen and Jimmy Lovell, grandkids Mistie Jeter-Kelly and Stephen Haas and great grandchildren Dillon Kelly, Hayden Kelly and Tabatha Romaker.

Barbara was a mother, grandmother “Nanny and Nanny Goat”, great grandmother, aunt “Aunt Barb”, and friend to many.  She worked many years for Burleson ISD Custodial Services where she enjoyed working at Frazier Elementary.  She loved camping and having family reunions for many, many years at Lake Whitney.  In her younger years she had a green thumb, enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking anything fried and baking…she was also known for her chicken and dumplings by her grandkids and great grandkids!  One thing about Barb is she was honest to the core and said what was on her mind so you always knew where you stood with her!

She is survived by her children Joe Bone of Rio Vista, Thomas Bedford and wife Becky of Rio Vista, Virginia Shelton and husband Michael of Burleson, Vicky Christian and husband Cary of Joshua, Terry Bedford of Burleson, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, sister Sue Perkins and husband Billy of Whitney and brother C. Dub Lovell and wife Mary of Cleburne and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Thomas Bedford, Terry Bedford, Cary Christian, Justin Shafer, Beau Shelton and Anthony Sanders

Service lead by Mr. Mike Shelton and Mr. Daniel Bruce
