William Carroll (Bill) Avett Jr.

ALVARADO -- William "Bill" Carroll Avett Jr., 56, of Alvarado, died Friday, April 10, 2009, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Caddo Cemetery. Vistitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Bill was born Nov. 3, 1952, in Oakland, Calif., to William Carroll Sr. and Dean Burleson Avett. Bill loved cars in general, collecting model cars. He also loved his pets and his friends and neighbors. Bill never knew a stranger. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church in Alvarado. Survivors: Father, William Carroll Avett Sr. and wife, Jan, of Alvarado; sister, Polly Lindsey and husband, Butch, of Joshua; nieces, Tammy Wilson of Joshua, Michelle Johnson and husband, Paul, of Alvarado; nephews, Billy Dodson, Doug Dodson, Michael Lindsey and wife, Susan, of Houston; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
