BURLESON -- Wilburn Orville Templeton, 77, of Burleson passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Whitney Memorial Park, Whitney. Visitation: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Wilburn was born April 19, 1935, in San Angelo to the late Wilburn and Vada Wise Templeton. He was a graduate of Hico High School class of 1954. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958, serving in Japan during the Korean War, later stationed in Biloxi, Miss. He spent his early years in the San Angelo and Hico areas, moving to Burleson in 1960. Wilburn retired from Texas Industries in August 2000 as a computer systems analyst. He was involved in Youth Sports of Burleson, Junior Achievement, Fort Worth, Scouts, Boys Club, Hospice volunteer, Family Council of Hico and Cleburne Nursing and Rehab. His interests included his family, mechanics and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeff Templeton; sister-in-law, Linda Booth, and daughter-in-law, Wendy Templeton. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Betty Templeton of Burleson; sons, Michael Templeton and Carey Templeton and wife, Donna, of Burleson; grandsons, Cody Templeton and wife, Becky, of Burleson, David Templeton of Omaha, Neb., and Gregg Templeton and wife, Vicky, of Omaha, Neb.; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Snyder and husband, Phil, of Marysville, Pa; brother-in-law, Billy Booth of Clifton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
