Verna Mary "Pete" Cheek

CROWLEY -- Verna Mary "Pete" Cheek, 82, of Crowley, a retired nurse, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Mary was born May 4, 1927, in Erath County to George W. and Texana Cannady Childress. Mary loved and supported her family. She was also very family oriented and thoughtful. She loved taking pictures for every occasion, attending Texas Rangers baseball games and going garage sale shopping. Mary was a member for 27 years of The Texas Rangers Women's Club. She was also a member of South Central Church of Christ in Crowley.
