Shyrel Ann Linthicum

Jan 16, 1945 — Aug 30, 2026

Shyrel Ann Linthicum was born in Englewood, New Jersey, on January 16, 1945, to Jack and Evelyn Campbell. She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 30, 2026, as she was lovingly surrounded by her family and welcomed into her heavenly home.

Shyrel grew up alongside her six siblings. As the daughter of a military father, Shyrel was an "Army brat," growing up with the unique experiences of military life and moving with her family along the way. These experiences helped shape the adventurous spirit and love of travel that remained a part of her throughout her life.

Shyrel was a strong Christian woman whose faith was at the center of her life. She had a heart for serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

It was here in Texas that Shyrel met and married the love of her life, Ralph Linthicum. They were blessed to share 64 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, adventures, and countless memories. Together, they especially loved traveling to the beach, where they enjoyed spending time together and making memories. Their 64 years together were a beautiful testament to a lifetime of love and companionship.

Family was at the heart of Shyrel's life, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. She spent much of her time with her twin granddaughters, Madison and Morgan, who held a very special place in her heart. She loved being their Nana and treasured the time they shared together. The memories they made will forever be a precious part of their lives.

Shyrel had a beautiful, priceless smile that could light up a room. She also had a special love for Elvis Presley and enjoyed his music throughout her life-a little piece of her personality that those who knew and loved her will always remember.

Shyrel was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Evelyn Campbell, sisters, Joan Shelton and Doris Turnbo and brother Calvin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ralph Linthicum; her daughter, Diane Payne, and her husband, Dennis and her beloved grandchildren, Madison Payne and Morgan Reynolds and her husband TJ. She is also survived by her siblings, Kenneth and his wife, Julaney, Jackie Towler and Angie West, as well as extended family and many friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Shyrel's priceless smile, kind heart, strong faith, and loving spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but we find comfort knowing she is now at peace and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior.
