Shirley Ashley White of Burleson, was born September 23, 1944, to Lawrence and Marie Ashley. Shirley left, this earthly life, on June 9, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Shirley was married to Glen D. White, with whom she shared, so many of life's crazy adventures. Together they travelled, long haul truck style, across the great state of Texas; and, beyond, for Schneider Transport.
Shirley's work life, also, included switch board operator, for Monning's department store, selling fine jewelry for JC Penney's, selling real estate for Century 21; and, working at Lowe's, as a flooring specialist.
When not at work, Shirley loved to read, garden, dance and listen to good ole rock and roll music, like Lynyrd Skynyrd or Stevie Ray Vaughn.
To the friends of her own kids, Shirley was known as the "fun" mom and the "cool" mom.
Shirley's home was always known, as the sleep over destination. Shirley's kids were the envy of the neighborhood; and, as such, she was known as everyone's second mom.
Shirley was always up for any new adventure; and, she didn't care, if she was good at the task or not, she just always aimed for FUN with a capital "F" and had a good time.
Shirley is survived by her brother, Ted Ashley, daughter Shelly White Hooper; and, husband Jon, son, Shawn White and daughter, Christie White.
Shirley's grandchildren include: Cody White, Heath Hooper, Hayden Hooper, Gage Dunn, Jerilyn Rich; and, husband; Devn and Chloe Dunn. Great grandchildren include, Ava Quinn Rich and Zephyr Dunn.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Ashley; mother, Marie Ashley; sister, Colleen Story and husband Jack; grandson, Austin Powell.
