Scott Ross Johnson was born in Rockford, Illinois on April 4, 1957 to Glenn and Joyce Johnson. He passed away peacefully after a 13 year battle with multiple myeloma on Monday afternoon October 20, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Scott grew up in Rockford with his parents and four siblings. He graduated from Gilford High School in 1975, where he played football, basketball and baseball. After high school graduation Scott went to North Park University and in 1980 graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at the University of Iowa.
On June 5, 1986 Scott married the love of his life Cindy Johnson. On August 29, 1990 they welcomed son Shawn and on July 8, 1994 son Dylan.
Scott worked and retired from United Stationers where he was a loyal and hard-working employee for 25 years,
Scott and Cindy enjoyed playing golf, watching college football every Saturday especially the Hawkeyes and traveling together. They had many great adventures, with Colorado being his "Happy Place".
Scott was a loving and devoted husband, father and recently grandpa to precious Rosemary.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Joyce Johnson, his uncle Tom Johnson and sister Linda Parker.
He leaves behind his wife Cindy and their children Shawn Johnson and wife Vervain of Temple, Texas, Dylan Johnson of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and granddaughter Rosemary Johnson of Temple, Texas. Brothers Gary and wife Fran Johnson, Dean and wife Darlene Johnson, Gregg and wife Carol Johnson, Sister in law Cheryl Baker and husband Jim Baker, Nieces, nephews and friends.
Scott was a good man of quiet faith and a generous giving spirit. He fought the good fight and now resides with his Lord.
