Roy Armentrout

Roy Don Armentrout, born July 21, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Roy and Cherry Armentrout, passed away leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. Roy was a man whose infectious smile and boundless heart touched everyone he met. He was a true friend, always the first to volunteer help, and had a gift for making those around him feel special.

Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Connie Armentrout, with whom he shared countless adventures-often starting with his endearing habit of getting ready just as they were supposed to leave. He leaves behind his daughter Amy Armentrout and her sons, Roy and Ray; his daughter Cindy Armentrout, son-in-law Bob Kauffman, and their children, Vera and Hudson; as well as his sisters, Doris (Al) and Kay.

A natural-born athlete, Roy was Mr. Azle in high school and played football at West Texas State (now WTAMU- Go Buffs!) followed by playing in the CFL for the Edmonton Eskimos. He carried his love for sports throughout his life. His passion for fast cars, classic automobiles, team roping, and good horses defined him as much as his cowboy spirit. Roy's unparalleled sense of humor and loyal friendship brought joy to all. He was an avid animal lover, a man of many interests, and a skilled craftsman who could build almost anything. His long, successful career in construction and home building in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a testament to his talent and work ethic.

Roy's love for people, especially children, and his ability to leave a positive impact were unmatched. His generous spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service.
