Robert Lee Winkler

Robert Lee Winkler, 84, of Burleson, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Joshua. Visitation: 5-7 p.m Thursday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Robert was born on October 4, 1930 in Cleburne to Jesse and Effie (Pierce) Winkler. He was married for 60 wonderful years to his wife Barbara. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S Marines. He loved horses, woodworking, and being in the outdoors mowing. He worked for Safeway for 32 years and retired the summer of 1986, then took to the road traveling. He is preceded in death by his children Ricky Winkler and Diane Hillis, 3 brothers, Walter Winkler, John Winkler, and Don Winkler. Survivors: wife, Barbara Winkler, of Burleson, daughters, Carol Zortman and husband Trent, of Udall KS, Becky Gorman and husband David, of Joshua. Sister, Joyce Jenkins, of Burleson, brother, Terry Winkler, of Burleson, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family, friends, and loved ones.
