Richard Stanley Konchalski

December 16, 1934 - June 14, 2026

Richard Stanley Konchalski, 91, peacefully passed away on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous journey through illness.

Born in New Jersey on December 16, 1934, Richard was raised in The Bronx, New York. At just 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for 28 years while traveling the world. Following his military retirement in 1980, he began a second career with General Dynamics, later Lockheed Martin, where he worked until retiring in 1994.

While Richard was proud of his military and professional accomplishments, his greatest joy was always his family.

Richard had an endless curiosity about the world and the people in it. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make others feel valued. Whether sharing stories from his travels, tending his tomatoes and garden, baking homemade bread, solving crossword puzzles, offering thoughtful advice, or forwarding an article that had captured his interest, he approached life with enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine desire to keep learning.

He loved bringing people together. Richard believed some of life's greatest moments happened around a table surrounded by family. He and his beloved wife, Roberta, faithfully built a close-knit family, celebrating milestones, creating traditions, and making even ordinary moments special. His grandchildren remember him as a teacher, storyteller, encourager, and steady presence who believed in their potential and celebrated both life's biggest achievements and its simplest joys.

Richard's family finds comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended. They are deeply grateful for the years they shared with him, the memories they will forever cherish, and the lasting legacy he leaves through the lives he touched.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Stanley Konchalski; his brother, Edward Konchalski; and his sisters, Janet O'Conner and Arlene Patricia Cordovano.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Roberta Konchalski; his sons, Richard J. Konchalski, Michael Konchalski, David Konchalski, and Mark Konchalski (Amber); his daughter, Lori Stock (Ron); his grandchildren, Shannon Konchalski, Christopher Konchalski (Stefany), Brandi Bainter (Derek), Montana Konchalski, Matti Konchalski, Parker Konchalski, Riley Wagner (Zachary), Carter Stock (Natalie), and Abigail Stock; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Alyssa Jones, Kaylie Jones, Grayson Konchalski, Callum Konchalski, and Scottie Jane Wagner.

Richard's greatest legacy was the family he loved so faithfully. His influence will continue to be felt every time his family gathers around a table, shares a story, or takes time to enjoy life's simple moments together.
