Plez Nelson Bryant - JOSHUA

Plez Nelson Bryant, 83, of Joshua, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at a hospice center in Fort Worth.

Plez was born on June 25, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Charles Albert Bryant and Belle Bryant (née Hulsey.) Known affectionately as PaPa, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

After retiring in the early 2000s from the 18th District Court in Johnson County, Texas, where he served for more than 30 years as a court reporter, Plez spent his time filled with music, sports, and family. He loved watching both pro games and those played by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Plez had a competitive spirit and was always up for a game of dominoes, cards, trivia, or any challenge involving strategy. A skilled and avid bowler, he spent countless hours at the lanes and even met the love of his life, Debra, in a bowling alley.

He and Debra shared a love of travel and adventure, exploring many states and especially enjoyed hiking and camping in national parks. Long before it became trendy, they were self-proclaimed "foodies," always seeking out new meals and experiences. In recent years, they took pleasure in watching golf together.

A lifelong learner, Plez remained intellectually curious throughout his life. He could always be counted on for the right answer - regardless of the question - and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Plez was preceded in death by his brother Charles "Charlie" Bryant.

SURVIVORS:

Plez is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debra Bryant (née Neal); son, Carl Brittain and wife, Lisa; daughter, Rhonda Bryant; grandchildren, Joseph Pacheco, Ashlee Pacheco, Josh Brittain, Brandon Brittain and Brenna Pacheco; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Atlas, Brooklyn, Arlo and Hudson. Plez is also survived by his sweet dog Penny.

The family will hold a private celebration of life ceremony.
