Phyllis Kay Cade
July 3, 1947 - October 12, 2025
Phyllis Kay Cade, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 78.
She was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on July 3, 1947. A proud graduate of College High School's Class of 1965, Phyllis went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Midwestern University in 1974. She dedicated her life to teaching and nurturing others. For more than 30 years, she shaped young minds in the Joshua Independent School District, where she was admired for her ability to make learning fun, her patience, compassion, and unwavering love and commitment to her students. Her influence reached far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
After retiring from teaching in 2004, Phyllis moved to Celina, Texas, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She never missed a school or sporting event and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren every chance she could.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Mac Cade; her sister, Carol Rowton; and her parents, Allie and Cordia Askew.
She is survived by her daughter Macy Lamb and son-in-law Jeff Lamb; her grandchildren Jackson and Paige Lamb, Jace Lamb, Jayden Lamb; her great-grandson Carter Lamb; and several nieces and nephews who brought her endless joy and laughter.
She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, kindness, strength, sense of humor, infectious laughter, and selfless love for her family. Phyllis's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched and in the generations she inspired.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
