Norma Chatman

December 1, 1944 — July 22, 2025

In Loving Memory of Norma Faye Chatman

(Known to all family and friends as Mema.)

Norma Faye Chatman went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2025. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 1, 1944, to Walter and Pauline Maxwell, she was one of seven siblings. A proud graduate of Polytechnic High School in 1962, Norma was a longtime resident of Rendon, Texas.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and neighbor whose warmth, grace, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Norma was retired and enjoyed the simple joys of life: spending time with her family, sipping a cold Dr. Pepper, enjoying a Pop-Tart while watching The Price is Right, and finding comfort in her home. Her kindness was unwavering, and her love was freely given.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Garey Edward Chatman, with whom she shared many wonderful years and countless cherished memories. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Psencik, and brothers Walter "Squirrel" Maxwell and James Henry Maxwell.

Norma is survived by her siblings Paula Crocker, Debbie Alford, and Randy Maxwell.

She is also survived by her children:

• Daughter Lisa Threadgill and husband Ren Threadgill

• Son Eric Chatman and wife Melissa Chatman

• Daughter Kristi Hurd and husband Donnie Hurd II

Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Kevin, Courtnie, Ashley, Dakota, Destiny, Dalton, Hannah, and Chaselyn; and her great-grandchildren: Rylan, Easton, Blaine, Levi, Keegan, Jackson, Greyson, Brady, Harrison, and Koa Claire.

Family and friends are invited to honor Norma's life during a visitation on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, located at 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, TX 76058.

A graveside service will be held the following morning on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Rendon Cemetery, located at the corner of FM 1187 and Rendon Road.

Though she is no longer with us, Norma's love and faith live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
