Nancy Rogers Martinez

Nancy Rogers Martinez, 77 of Burleson, Texas passed away Friday March 17, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at Bethesda Baptist Church in Burleson. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Monday March 20th, 2017 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua Texas. Interment: Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado Texas following services. Nancy was born on December 19, 1939 in Ft Worth to Ernest and Margaret (Thompson) Rogers. She graduated Burleson High School in 1958. She went on to attend Baylor University and graduated with honors receiving her Bachelor's degree in education. She had a brief career as a school teacher in Uvalde Texas before finding her niche as a loan officer in Waco Texas. She loved camping, playing chicken foot dominoes and going to the horse races. She also loved to travel. Some of her favorite destinations were New Mexico, Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. She was beyond a doubt Willie Nelson's biggest fan. One of the joys in her life was the strong bond she shared with a group of special ladies that she has been friends with from a very young age. Her greatest passion in life was being a mother and grandmother. Nancy was proceeded in death first by her father Ernest Rogers and then her mother Margaret (Thompson) Rogers. She is survived by her only child Margaret Hibbard and fiancé' Robert Davis of Cleburne, Grandson Joshua Hibbard of Arlington, partner in life and love Bobby Eakin of Burleson, Brother Reid Rogers and sister in law Teri Rogers of Fairfax Station, Virginia
