Nancy Jones Green

Nancy B. Jones Green, 75, of Burleson passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Cana Baptist Church, Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Nancy was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Allen to John Newton and Elsie Faye Jordan Orlds. Nancy loved her Lord; her husband and soulmate, Don; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; daughters; and her church. She enjoyed Bible study at Cana Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. Nancy's greatest achievement was to love and serve God daily. She held a B.S. degree in home economics, and a master's degree in reading. Nancy was Citizen of the Year in Burleson 1982, and served on the boards of the library and Parks Department for a combined total of 27 years. She was co-owner of Jones Funeral Home of Burleson. Survivors: Husband, Don Green; daughters, Sandra K. Brooks, Dana R. Jones and husband, Rent Johnson; daughter-in-love, Patty Green; grandchildren, Courtney Dunnam, Wesley Milner, Derek Mattson-Johnson, Matt Douty, Lauren Dancey; great-grandchildren, Quenton, Grace and Ethan; sister, Paulette Orlds Kokes; sister-in-love, Iva Gene Stewart; and many other extended family and loving friends.
