Michelle Oberbeck Nelson

Michelle "Mikey" Nelson (Oberbeck) passed away on May 26, 2026, at the age of 64.

Born on September 8, 1961, in Franklin, Ohio, to Donald Oberbeck and Susan Schellenger, Michelle lived a life defined by hard work, compassion, and love for those around her. Known affectionately as "Mikey" by her loved ones, she carried a spirited personality and generous heart throughout her life.

Michelle spent her career in outside sales, a profession she took great pride in and dedicated herself to wholeheartedly. Her strong work ethic was evident in everything she did, and she was respected by colleagues and friends alike for her determination and commitment.

Outside of work, Michelle found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a well-known sweet tooth, loved serving her church community, and held a special place in her heart for any and all animals. She never turned away a stray and devoted much of her life to caring for the many animals she loved.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Oberbeck and Susan Schellenger, and by her beloved niece, Hayley Oberbeck.

She is survived by her daughter, Nina Reed, and son-in-law, Monty Reed; her brother, Bobby Oberbeck, and niece, Hannah Oberbeck; her sister, Andie Oberbeck, and nephews, Dylan Oberbeck and Tanner Massingill, and niece, Maycie Massingill; her stepmother, Marley Oberbeck; her sister-in-law, Natalie Bierman; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday June 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Fountains Fellowship Church in Crowley, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Michelle's life. Flowers may be sent directly to the church.

Michelle will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her dedication to her career, her love of animals, and her love for serving her church. Michelle's legacy will live on in the many memories made with friends and family.
