Martha Ward

Martha Virginia (Spradley) Ward, of Joshua, Texas passed away on May 21, 2025, at the age of 84. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her sons and her grandchildren by her side. Martha was born on April 5, 1941, to Hiram Lesley Spradley and Margie Virginia (Pool) Spradley in McGregor, Texas. Martha grew up in Fort Worth, Texas as the middle child of five children. She attended Pascal High School and married Billy W. Ward on August 23, 1965. Martha devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Burleson Church of Christ where she volunteered for over 30 years teaching young children. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, her parents, and her siblings Garfield Spradley, "Cotton" Spradley, and Eunice Collins. She is survived by her sister Carol Taylor; sons Ricky McBride and wife Kim, Eddie Ward and wife Taffy, Billy D. Ward and wife Brandi, and Joey Ward and wife Tonna; grandchildren Kristen, Lauren, Meagan, Mackenzie, Lacy, Billy T., Blake, Riley, Nathan, Cody, and Cali; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Martha is planned for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Mountain Valley Funeral Home located at 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, Texas. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at Burleson Church of Christ located at 1150 NW John Jones Dr, Burleson, Texas, followed by interment at Hopewell Cemetery, Joshua, Texas.
