Marion Paul Chavez was born on August 1, 1942, in Raton, New Mexico, to Fred Chavez and Odelia Martinez. Marion lived a life rooted in love, family, and devotion, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Marion is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Oneida Chavez. The two met in Junction, Texas, in 1960, where Marion famously tackled Gloria into a ditch-an unforgettable moment that sparked an everlasting love and lifelong partnership.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Anthony Chavez and George Chavez of Nevada, and Stella Martinez of Denver.
Marion was a proud and loving father to his children: John Paul Chavez, Donnie Chavez, Michael Chavez, and Kimberly Chavez.
He was also a devoted grandfather to Stuart Boone, Amanda Raemhild, Leah Chavez, Michael Chavez, Andrew Chavez, Angelina Cardoza, Edward Chavez, John Paul Chavez Jr., Leo Chavez, and Ali Palacios. His family continued to grow with the joy of his great-grandchildren: Alexa Bieberle, Tyler Raemhild Jr., Mya Chavez, Taylor Chavez, Charlie Chavez, Brooklyn Chavez, Asher Chavez, Maelyn Chavez, Maddox Chavez, Alysiana Chavez, Blaze Anderson, Blake Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Aric Anderson, Joziah Chavez, and Ariel Tapia.
Known by many names but most affectionately called "Papo," Marion was a steady presence in the lives of his family. He was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan and greatly enjoyed watching them play, often sharing those moments with loved ones.
Marion Paul Chavez will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty, his humor, and the countless memories he created. His spirit lives on through the generations he helped shape and the love he shared so freely.
