LeRoy McCoy

LeRoy McCoy was born in Glen Rose, Texas on June 23, 1936 to Houston and Lelia Shipman McCoy. He was the oldest of six sisters and lived a full and memorable life surrounded by family and the many things he loved.

LeRoy went to meet Jesus on September 21, 2026. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, his grandson Christopher, and many others who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his children, Lisa King and husband Jeff of Oklahoma, Tony McCoy and wife Dorinda of Burleson, and Donny McCoy and wife Mandy of Joshua; his grandchildren, M'lissa Balderas, Amy Kimbrell, Dustin Yadon, Chad Yadon, Landon McCoy, and Macy McCoy; and numerous great grandkids and one great-great grandchild.

Known to many as PeePaw, LeRoy loved his family and took great pride in hearing about their accomplishments-especially when they were saving their money along the way. He loved antique cars and was a collector of just about everything. His home was filled with arrowheads, petrified rocks, antique guns, and countless treasures, making it feel more like a museum than a house.

For many years, LeRoy was known at local flea markets as the "Honey Man." He raised bees, harvested and bottled his own honey, and enjoyed sharing it with others.

LeRoy never let his age slow him down. He remained active and independent until his legs finally gave out, and his mind stayed sharp until his final breath. He loved good food-especially anything made with real butter and bacon grease-and enjoyed creating meals for his family without ever bothering with a recipe. Which made us all a bit nervous!

His sly smile, his unmistakable "look" when things weren't done his way, and those precious words, "I love you," will be deeply missed.

We are heartbroken to lose him, but we find comfort knowing that this life is only temporary and that one day we will see him again.
