Judson (Jud) Harper, 82, passed away on January 3, 2026.
Celebration of life is pending.
Jud was an only child born to the late Alva & Judson Harper Jr. on Father's Day, June 20, 1943 in Rollo, Missouri.
Raised in Fort Worth, Jud fulfilled his childhood dream, to play the drums and to perform in the Polytechnic High School Marching 100, Concert and Stage Bands. Jud and his fellow musicians earned many awards during their high school years. Jud was quoted many times that these were the best years of his school life.
Following his graduation from Polytechnic High School in 1962, Jud attended UT Arlington for one year and continued to perform in the Arlington State Jazz Band and many other local bands in the area.
Jud later moved to Columbus, Mississippi and while working in the banking business, he joined and served six years in the Air National Guard. He met the love of his life, Sandra Fuqua. After their marriage, they moved to Memphis, Tennessee and Jud worked for Humble Oil & Refining Regional Office. It was during this time that Jud attended Memphis University and earned a degree in Business Administration. While in Memphis, they started a family with a daughter and a son. Spending every opportunity with their children were the happiest times of their lives. While in Memphis, Jud began a new career in sales which led him to the flooring industry.
While serving with Mannington Mills, Inc. in their corporate office in Salem, New Jersey, Jud attended Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Jud enjoyed developing friendships and relations in his business. After a successful career with various Corporations in the floorcovering industry, Jud worked in his Consulting Business where he represented manufacturers thru out the US, Germany, China, Belgium and South America.
Jud will be remembered most for his smile and a handshake, his love for Golf and The University of Texas Longhorns.
Jud was preceded in death by his mother and father, grandparents and aunts and uncles.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Sandra Fuqua Harper, daughter, Jennifer Alyce Brandt, son, Jeffrey Todd Harper, grandson, Austin Daniel and Sara Brandt, great grandchildren, Ryder Brandt , Leighton Brandt, and Myles Brandt, and numerous cousins.
