Joyce Ann Stephens

Joyce Ann Stephens was born in Cleburne, Texas on January 31st, 1952, to Drew and Ruth (Willis) Ledbetter. She passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 3rd, 2026.

She grew in in Joshua with her parents and her five siblings, Donald, Kenneth, Royce, her twin, and Ellen. Joyce attended school in Joshua and attended college. She married James Rodney Stephens and they welcomed two children, Jimmy Dan and Jennifer.

Joyce was a proud member of the U.S. Airforce along with her husband. After her service, Joyce worked for the U.S. Post Office for many years. Once she retired, Joyce loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and her many 'adopted' children. Everyone who met her came to refer to her as Mama Joyce, as she enjoyed being a mother to all. She greatly enjoyed singing karaoke and spending time with all her friends at her retirement apartment complex.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Drew and Ruth, her brothers, Donald and Royce, and her sister Ellen.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Jimmy and Ladonna Stephens, Jennifer and Kenneth Gillaspie, her grandchildren Guy Morse V, Allison Davis, Anthony Gillaspie, Logan Gillaspie, Dakota Stephens, Denver Stephens, Aidan Stephens and Matthew Stephens. She also has many nieces and nephews that she adored.

Mama Joyce will be missed by the many lives she has touched and live on in our hearts.
