WHITE SETTLEMENT -- Joseph Glenn Atkins, 46 of White Settlement, a Fort Worth Motor Escort Officer, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2009. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel in Burleson. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Joseph was born August 22, 1962 in Decatur. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1979. He worked as a home repairman and also for the Fort Worth Motor Escort Service until his death. He had a love for crafting wood pieces and was a craftsman in creating many wonderful wood carvings for family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Leo and Ruby Pearl Atkins, Al and Yvonne Berg; and his mother, Donna Harbour. Survivors: Wife, Rebekah Atkins; father, Glenn Atkins and step-mother, Monica; brothers, Blake Atkins and wife, Valerie of Round Rock, Marc Young of Florida; sister, Yvette Johnston and husband, Ricky of Fort Worth.
