Johnny Lewis Slate, beloved father and grandfather, departed this life, to be with his Lord on December 16, 2017 at the age of 93, in Burleson after a brief illness. Celebration of life was held at Mountain Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Joshua. Visitation was 9 a.m. prior to the service. Johnny will be laid to rest by his family at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster. Johnny will be lovingly remembered by his children; daughter, Michelane Kent and husband, Gary; sons, Tony Slate and Terry Slate. Johnny will also be fondly remembered by his 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
