John Edward Tarver
("Johnny" to family)
September 27, 1942 - September 10, 2025

John Edward Tarver, lovingly known as "Johnny" to his family, passed away on September 10, 2025, at Community Healthcare of Texas in Burleson, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 82.

Born on September 27, 1942, on the family farm in Burleson, Texas, John graduated from Burleson High School, earned his degree from the University of Texas, and went on to receive a Master's from Southwest Texas State. A proud Army veteran, John later founded Intec Business Systems, which he owned and operated for over 42 years.

John had a lifelong love of travel, having visited all 50 states and numerous countries around the world. He was passionate about family genealogy and spent many years researching and preserving his family's history. For the past 20 years, he also enjoyed running a Cow-Calf operation-Black Angus being his preferred breed. A dedicated reader, he also enjoyed bowling in his younger years.

Family was at the heart of John's life. He coached his son's baseball team for several seasons and was a strong supporter of every family milestone. He especially loved family gatherings and hosted most of them himself. 

For the past 15 years, John served as President of the Marystown Cemetery Association, honoring the legacy of those who came before him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Tarver; mother, Crecie Mae Tarver; brother, Huey Tarver; and sisters, Eleanor Tarver and Francis Penney.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Tarver; his son, Christopher Tarver and wife Monique; his daughter, Heather Livingston and husband Rob; and his bonus daughter, Tammy VanHook and husband Mike. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Taylor Koerth (Trey), Brady Tarver, Colin Tarver, Christopher Longhurst, Camden Longhurst, Kristin Alexander (Nathan), Jared VanHook, and Danny VanHook; as well as six cherished great-grandchildren.

John's legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength lives on in his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
