Jim Davidson

Frisco, TX. Jim Davidson, a long time Joshua resident, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 88. Jim was born on October 7, 1937, on the family farm just north of Ballinger, TX. He graduated from Mullin High School in 1956 and attended Abilene Christian College. There he met Bennie Jo Dyer from Godley, and they married in January of 1960 before graduating in May. They were married 29 years until her unexpected passing in 1989. He received his degree in accounting and served with the Internal Revenue Service for 29 years, beginning his career in Lubbock Texas. After 13 years in Lubbock, he was transferred to the Ft. Worth office and finished his career in Dallas. He retired in 1989 at 52 as the Chief of Criminal Intelligence.

After retirement he enjoyed crappie and catfish fishing, hunting, running a commercial mowing business and spending time with his two boys, his daughters-in-law and his two granddaughters. He always loved a good story especially if it involved hunting and fishing and he never missed working crossword puzzles in the Cleburne and Ft Worth papers. Most importantly, he read his bible every day and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a long-time member of the Burleson Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bennie Jo in 1989, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Davidson, his sister Jean Lee and his brother Wayne. He is survived by his second wife Janie of Houston, his two sons, Lance and wife Theresa of Frisco, Trent and wife Teresa of Amarillo, two granddaughters, Makenzie and Matti both of Amarillo, his brother-in-law Larry and wife Debbie Dyer of Hot Springs Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.
