Jake Paslay Jr. "Jay", 91, of Burleson, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017. Funeral Service: 2PM Wednesday, March 8, 2017, Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Visitation: 6-8PM Tuesday, March 7th at funeral home. Jay was the 3rd son of 7 children; born to Jake Paslay Sr. of Oklahoma and Ida Elizabeth McCurry of Arkansas on December 25, 1925 in Fort Worth. 2 surviving siblings are Jack Paslay and Elizabeth Malicoat. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Son of a carpenter; Jay was a lifelong home builder, land developer, and constructed several churches. Jay was involved in communities as a Mason, and Sunday school teacher for Reese Prairie Baptist Church, and actively participated in evangelical campaigns. At the time of his passing, he was a 67 year Mason with the Southside Lodge #1114, Fort Worth. Survivors: wife, Wanda Jean (Bragg) Paslay of 49 years; children, Hollis Hutchison, Jake (Jacob) Paslay III, Clayton Paslay, Timothy Paslay, Debbie Cogburn, Crystal Paslay, Amber Margelis, and Daniel Paslay; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
