Gary Dale Barker, a beloved husband, father, Papaw, and Great-Papaw, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 65.

Gary was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Cindy. He made her feel like a princess and filled her life with a love she will treasure forever. As Cindy so beautifully says, "Our love story is my favorite story." Their marriage was a beautiful example of true love and reflected the way Christ loves the Church-with devotion, faithfulness, grace, and sacrifice.

Gary was a proud and loving father to his three children, Ellen-Joyce Barker, Gary Horsley and his wife, Ashley, and Chazleigh Rolfing and her husband, Zach.

One of Gary's greatest joys was being Papaw to his eight grandchildren: Kason, Lexie, Jaxson, Avanlee, Jackson, Kennington, Grant, and Wyatt. Each of them held a special place in his heart. He was also the proud Great-Papaw of one precious four-legged baby, Hermione.

Gary's love for his family was evident in the life he lived and the memories he created with those closest to him. His presence brought love, strength, and comfort to his family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Although their hearts are broken, Gary's family will forever cherish the time they shared with him, the love he gave so freely, and the countless memories that will remain with them.

Gary will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

His life was a blessing, his memory will always be treasured, and his love will remain in the hearts of his family forever.

Celebration of Life

Gary was a country boy at heart who found joy in life's simple pleasures. In his honor, we invite everyone to wear attire representing one of his favorite teams-the Texas Rangers or the Texas Longhorns.
