A memorial service for Gale Collins Weisinger, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene of Lufkin with her grandsons Jeremy Smith of Pilot Point, Texas and Phillip Smith of Burleson, Texas officiating. Mrs. Weisinger was born September 23, 1922 in Latexo, Texas, to the late Silas Edward and Jennie Ferguson George and went to Heaven on May 15, 2013. She resided in Lufkin most of her life and was retired from the Lufkin State School. She had been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1977. She is survived by her son, Mark Collins, of Lufkin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Mona and Jerry Smith of Godley, Texas; Lloyd E. Hill, son-in-law, of Springerville, Arizona; step-daughters and husbands, Betty and Richard Crow and Linda Kay and Lon Gibson, of Oklahoma City, OK; and step-son and wife, Steven and Roxanne Weisinger of Lufkin, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Lamar Collins in 1977 and Victor Weisinger in 2004, and her daughter Nancy Collins Hill in 2011. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mission Hospice and the staff of The Gardens at Chisholm Trail in Keene, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the American Alzheimer's Association. A visitation with the family will follow the service.
