Edward "Eddie" Dean Elms, 82, of Burleson, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 26, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Eddie was born on December 29, 1943, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Melvin Earl and Ruby Pearl (Jones) Elms. He graduated from Anadarko High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1964, attaining the rank of Airman First Class.
In 1965, Eddie married Linda Novotny, and together they were blessed with three wonderful sons. Although their marriage later ended in divorce, they shared many years of family life. On August 28, 1999, Eddie married Henrietta, and together they built a happy life filled with love, companionship, and the activities they enjoyed most.
Eddie worked as a plumber throughout his professional career. Outside of work, he had a passion for playing bingo, watching football, basketball, and baseball, and spending time with his cherished family. His greatest joy came from watching his children and grandchildren participate in the sports he loved.
Eddie is lovingly remembered by his wife, Henrietta Elms; his sons, Ronnie Elms and wife Bonnie of Chandler, Arizona, Jeff Elms and wife Emily of Fort Worth, Texas, and Chris Elms of Vine Grove, Kentucky; his daughter, Linda English and husband Ed of Joshua, Texas; his brother, Johnny Elms of Anadarko, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. His life was enriched by a host of dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Earl and Ruby Pearl Elms; two sisters; and a son.
Family and friends are invited to honor Eddie's life during a visitation on June 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua, Texas. Interment will be held on June 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of delivering flowers to the cemetery, floral arrangements and plants may be sent to Mountain Valley Funeral Home.
Eddie will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of sports, his friendly spirit, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
