Cynthia Marie Ply

Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Gurley Ply, 72, passed away May 28, 2026, peacefully in her sleep. 

Cindy was born on December 23, 1953 to Jack and Doris (Irwin) Gurley. She was a lifelong resident of Burleson, Texas. She graduated from University of North Texas and taught second and third grades at Mound and Hajek Elementary Schools for 30 years. Cindy was extremely active with First United Methodist Church, and spent many years working in the nursery after her retirement from teaching. She always put others before herself and was a dedicated mother and close friend to many. Cindy loved cooking and baking and the Hallmark Mystery channel. 

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Gurley and Doris Gurley Richardson and step-father Pete Richardson.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Ply Guccion and husband John; brother Roger Gurley and his wife Sara: step-brother Tim Richardson and wife Roxie; and nephew Matt Gurley and wife Allie and children Oliver and Livy.
