Colleen Annie Pilgrim

November 14, 1956 - October 26, 2025

Colleen Annie Pilgrim was born on November 14, 1956, in Laon, France, on the U.S. Air Force Base, to Eugene and Marjorie (Graver) Dunn. She passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by her closest friends and family, and was transported to her heavenly home.

Colleen grew up in Joshua, Texas, with her parents and four siblings Patrick Dunn, Denis Dunn, Michael Dunn, and Shannon (Dunn) Nash. She graduated from Joshua High School in 1975. After holding a few small jobs, she began a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell, selling landlines and call notes. As the company evolved into AT&T, Colleen earned her Associate's Degree, was promoted to management, and transferred to the main building in downtown Fort Worth. She retired in 2013 after decades of dedicated service.

Colleen was married twice. Her first marriage, to Frank Menchaca, lasted 15 years and brought her the joy of motherhood with two children and three stepchildren. Her second marriage, to Kenneth Anthony Pilgrim, spanned nearly 20 years until she was widowed in 2017. She loved her family deeply and leaves cherished memories with each of them.

A free spirit at heart, Colleen loved to travel, especially cruises and adventures on her Harley Trike, which often filled her calendar. At home, she enjoyed crafting, decorating, and spending time with the many dogs who were her loyal companions through the years.

Colleen was a natural leader and served as Director of the DFW Chapter of the Chrome Divas Riding Group. In earlier years, she shared her enthusiasm and guidance as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She also created a close-knit circle of friends she lovingly called her "Framily," who were always welcome at her gatherings and celebrations.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Margie Dunn; her husband, Kenneth A. Pilgrim; and her stepson, David Menchaca.

She is survived by her loving family:

Brothers Patrick (Sharon) Dunn of Willoughby Ohio; Michael (Kathy) Dunn of Joshua, TX; Denis (Devonna) Dunn of Fountain Hills, AZ; and sister Shannon Nash of Hurst, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Children: Daughter Leticia "Tia" Menchaca and her son Gabriel Williams of Fort Worth, Texas; son Matthew Menchaca of Joshua, Texas.

Stepchildren: Angela (Menchaca) Alkilani and husband Mohamed, and their children Savannah, Nabil, and Helen of Arlington, Texas; Christopher Bickel and wife Jennifer, and their son Micah of Edmond, Oklahoma; and the late David Menchaca, and his children Andrew and Nicolas Menchaca.

Colleen's bright spirit and joyful outlook on life will continue to inspire all who knew her. She reminds us:

"Always stop to smell the daisies. Life is good, life is sweet, get yourself a front-row seat."
