Christopher Lee Owen

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christopher Lee Owen, who passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2026, at just 47 years young.

Chris was born on January 7, 1979, in Fort Worth, Texas to Donna and Victor Owen. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.

Chris grew up in White Settlement, Texas alongside his three siblings, Sherri, Pam, and Clint. He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Donna Owen, and his sister, Sherri Owen.

Chris had a life-long passion for sports. He was a graduate of Brewer High School, where he played football and baseball. Chris also spent one year of school in Kansas, where he continued playing football and participated on the weightlifting team. His competitive spirit, discipline, and determination remained with him throughout his life. Because of the athlete in him, he was driven by physical fitness and remained active throughout his life.

Chris earned his Bachelor's degree followed by a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, and he dedicated nearly three decades of service to Texas Health Resources. Beginning his career there at just 19 years old, he remained a loyal and valued team member until the day he passed. He was deeply passionate about healthcare and found purpose in every role he held throughout his career. His commitment, leadership, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on colleagues, patients, and the organization he loved.

Above all else, Chris was a devoted husband, father, Pops, and friend. He married the love of his life, Sherry Owen, on October 11, 1997. Their story began years earlier when they met at age 12 in youth group at Christ Church. What started as a childhood friendship grew into a love story that spanned 35 years. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and unwavering devotion to one another.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Owen; his son, Brock Owen; his daughter Alyssa Doty and her husband Trent Doty; his cherished grandson Cole Owen, age 3 ½; and he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter, Wrenley Nicole Doty, expected to arrive July 12, 2026. He spoke often about how excited he was to hold her and welcome her into the family.

Family was Chris's greatest joy. Nothing made him happier than having his children, grandson, and loved ones gathered together. Whether relaxing by the pool, traveling, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, Chris treasured every moment shared with family. He loved deeply, remained fiercely loyal, and gave his whole heart to those he cared about.

Chris also had a tremendous love for the outdoors. Countless memories were made in hunting blinds with his children, who practically grew up hunting by his side. Hunting season was one of the highlights of his year and October was undoubtedly his favorite month. His hunting buddies would all agree that Chris looked forward to that time more than any other. The special bonds and traditions he created outdoors will continue to live on through those who shared them with him.

Anyone who knew Chris knew his remarkable attention to detail. He took pride in everything he owned and cared for. Whether it was his home, his yard, his vehicles, or any project he undertook, Chris believed in doing things the right way. His lawn was always immaculate, his spaces were meticulously organized, and his standards reflected the pride he took in caring for what mattered most. His work ethic, dependability, and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of his life.

Chris will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering faithfulness, quiet strength, generous spirit, and love he poured into his family and friends. He was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. Though his time here was far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is one of love, integrity, faith, and devotion.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Chris has been welcomed into heaven and is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. While he will be profoundly missed every day, his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and in the family he loved so dearly.
