Cecille Lanne Davis, born on January 30, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, and peacefully passed away on June 18, 2026 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Cecille devoted her life to serving the Lord and faithfully ministered as a wife, mom, Cece, sister, teacher, worship leader, friend, and many other roles that she played in her life. She had a deep passion for proclaiming Christ through music and served on mission around the world always encouraging others in their personal walk with God. From Mongolia to South Africa, Amarillo to Romania, and many other places in between, her servant's heart touched countless lives and left an enduring legacy of faith.
Cecille loved music, from sharing the stage with her sisters, creating albums with the band Moriah, leading worship, and writing songs, she shared her gift of singing for His glory. She ran countless miles in marathons, half marathons, 10ks, and 5ks during races in Disney parks, over hills and mountains in California, Utah, and Montana, and many other roads with friends and family, earning over 75 medals which she proudly displayed. She loved vacationing, even visiting all 50 states, but especially enjoyed places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and the Cabin, or somewhere locally just to spend time with close friends. Whether it was skydiving or riding rollercoasters, Cecille was always up for an adventure, which took a whole new meaning when she was playing dress up with her granddaughters during sleepovers or stocking the magic closet with new surprises for them to find each visit. Growing up with a pool and knowing the special place it held with her, swimming at Cece and Popi's pool was something she loved to share, as it brought together family and friends for many memorable moments over the years. She was quick to pour out unending love on her kids, spend time with close friends, and help others when they called. There are many other things that she cherished, but she always made sure that you knew she was a safe place to go for whatever you were going through.
Those who knew Cecille will remember her in many different ways, but all will remember the love, encouragement, and faith she shared so freely. Her compassionate spirit, joyful worship, and steadfast commitment to serving others left an enduring impact on everyone that she came into contact with. Through her diagnosis and battle, she believed this would be for God's glory and that those who did not have a personal relationship with Christ would be pointed to Him for comfort and peace. There was no one like Cece and though her absence leaves a tremendous void in our lives here on Earth, we rejoice in the promise that she is now in the presence of her Savior, joining in the choir of angels praising him forevermore.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
She was preceded in death by her mother, Johnette Alexander.
Cecille is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Tom Davis; her son, Spencer and Lindsey Davis; her daughter, Kelli Davis; her cherished granddaughters, Adilynn and Kinley Davis; her father, Cecil Alexander; her sisters, Debbie and Steve Harris, Melissa and Martin Saenz, and Allyson and Joel Harrell; and her brother, Brett and Julie Alexander. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her faith, kindness, and encouragement.
