Carol Louise Neeley (Nanny), born on July 27, 1939, in Grenola, Kansas to Whitie and Gracie Moore, peacefully passed away at her home on December 9, 2024. Carol's early years were spent moving frequently with her family due to her father's work in the pipeline industry. In 1944, she married JB (James Bradley) Neeley, and together they began their life journey.
Carol and JB relocated to Fort Worth, where they welcomed their first son, Brad, in 1955, followed by their second son, James, in 1959. In 1973, they purchased a farm in Joshua, Texas, where they raised their family. A devoted, God-fearing woman, Carol loved attending church and made it her mission to help others, believing deeply that the blessings she had received from God should be shared.
Carol found great joy in her six grandchildren, and her happiness only grew as she was blessed with great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a woman of faith, generosity, and love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitie and Gracie Moore; her brother, John Moore; her sisters, Janie McGlasson and Jeannie Morris; her husband, JB Neeley; her granddaughter, Jamie Neeley Whitehouse; and her son, Brad Neeley.
Carol is survived by her son James Neeley of Joshua; her grandchildren, Lisa (and husband Denver) Oaks of Joshua, Kelsey (and husband Eric) Belt of Lillian, Ericka (and husband Kody) Gross of Godley, Danielle (and husband Hunter) Connell of Rio Vista, and Bradley Neeley of Granbury; along with eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Lay.
Carol's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish the love, wisdom, and kindness she shared throughout her life. Her faith and her unwavering commitment to helping others will continue to inspire those who knew her.
