Betty Jean Jones

Betty Jean Christopher Jones, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. Betty was born in Maidsville, West Virginia on August 11, 1934. She was the 7th of 10 children. Throughout her life she called several places home, including West Virginia, Missouri, Florida, and Texas.

Betty attended West Virginia University, where she met the love of her life, Theodore "Ted" Jones. Betty was married to Ted on Christmas Eve in 1954. They shared a lifetime of love and memories. Together, they lived in several states and built a life filled with family, serving in their church, building several homes, traveling, and other treasured experiences. She loved God with all her heart. Betty was devoted to her Ted and lovingly cared for him during the final years of his life. Betty dedicated much of her life to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents and several siblings, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 61 years, Theodore Jones, and her cherished granddaughter Ashley Altum.

Betty is survived by her children: Curtis Jones and his wife, Gayle; Diane Jost and her husband, Bruce; and Doug Jones and his wife, Rhonda; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Betty will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family, her sweet spirit, her caring heart, and the love she gave to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who knew and loved her.
