A Life Well Lived
Betty Sue Dennis passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, with her children lovingly by her side.
Born in Allen, Texas, to Matthew "Mack" Sides and Eula May Sides, Betty was raised in Dallas alongside her brothers, Maurice and Bobby, and her younger sister, Ann Sides Yager.
At just 17 years old, Betty married Carroll Lees. They shared 41 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 1988. In her early twenties, she worked at Texas Instruments before devoting herself fully to raising their three children. A devoted wife and mother, Betty was the glue that held her household together.
While raising her children, she found joy in creative work-sewing curtains and handbags for JCPenney's. Later, she proudly retired as a supervisor from Walls Factory in Hamilton, Tx a title she wore with honor.
In 1993, Betty found love again and married Billy Joe Dennis of Gorman, Tx on October 16. Their 24-year marriage brought her continued joy until his passing in 2015.
A couple years later, she relocated to Granbury, Tx to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her final two years, she lived at Elk Creek Senior Living in Burleson, Tx where she was deeply loved by both staff and residents.
