Barbara Jean McKenzie, 71, of Joshua, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017. Celebration of Life: 2PM Wednesday, August 2, 2017, First United Methodist Church, Joshua. Barbara was born September 11, 1945, in Pleasanton, CA to Nathan P. and Mavis (Hubbard) King. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori McKenzie. Barbara was a strong Christian woman, whose passion was cooking and serving others. She served in many ministries, including Epiphany Ministries of Texas, Bethlehem Center Ministry, and Walk to Emmaus. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests donations made in Barbara's memory, to Bethlehem Center Ministry, 951 Evans Ave., Ft. Worth, TX 76104. Survivors: husband, Roy McKenzie; daughter, Amy Prather; son, Bryan McKenzie and wife, Dr. Heather McKenzie; grandchildren, Joshua Prather, Blake McKenzie, and Hunter McKenzie; step-grandchildren, Brittany Harvey, Ian Harvey; many other loving friends and extended family.
